Overview
The purpose of Writing For Strings 4th Edition Level 1 is to teach you in detail how to write for real strings and how to make sampled strings sound live. It’s for composers and songwriters (including those not very strong in reading music) who want to go to the next step. This completely revised version comes with new 4-color graphics and a more gracious, easy-to-read layout that looks as good on screen as it does printed.
Writing For Strings is divided into two parts, balanced between live orchestral and sample libraries. By course end, you should have a very competent demo reel (aka show reel) of your work. Techniques can be applied to any style. Please listen to the provided podcasts for detail on what’s taught.
